Located near Tawas City, Michigan, the Corsair Ski Trails offers 44 miles of groomed trails within the Huron National Forest. This cross-country ski trail system is considered one of the Midwest’s finest. Skiers of all levels can enjoy this network of trails and loops for a few hours or you can make it an entire weekend. The trails are groomed regularly and offer the classical double-track skiing experience. The trail terrain varies from easy gentle rolling hills to somewhat hilly more difficult terrain. Three trailheads, each about seven miles northwest of East Tawas, offer parking and different terrain. The Corsair Trailhead and Silver Valley Trailhead offer a gentler, less hilly skiing experience. The Wrights Lake Trailhead, with its longer loops and steeper hills, is a little more challenging. The trail map designates distances and terrain i.e. easiest, most difficult, and most difficult. Check for current trail conditions.
